How to quit e cigs using hypnotherapy
Think about how much e cigs have mage their way into our lives. There when you step into a corner shop or dragged on by every other hand in the beer garden. As you run down the battery of yet another “Strawberry”-flavoured Lost Mary, you may well be asking yourself how to quit e cigs for good?
Vaping is really a cynical marketing ploy of the tobacco companies now. They give you more nicotine than cigarettes can. Vapes don’t have that disgusting cigarette smell and just seemed cooler and generally less icky than cigarettes. Vaping could be done, with various degrees of subtlety, inside, almost anywhere and doesn’t leave your clothes and breath stinking like smoking does.
Vaping and e cigs waste your time and effort
Can you really call vaping “cool” now, though? Politicians vape. Children in the park vape. Indeed, as many as a quarter of 11-15-year-olds, in fact do. Due to concerns that fruit-flavoured vapes are getting youngsters hooked on nicotine, plus the glaring environmental impact of people throwing away plastic shells packed with batteries after a single session, disposable vapes are facing a government ban. Those wanting to continue vaping will have to rely on reusable (often bulkier) models.
Research into the long-term effects of e cigs is still very early on, but it might be that they are worse than actual cigarettes long term. One possible danger of e cigs is “popcorn lung”. This is the inflammation and buildup of scar tissue in the lungs. Which then can cause breathlessness and coughing fits. The ubiquity of vapes and their evident appeal to non-smokers, is also a concern.
An estimated one million adults have taken up vaping in England. This despite not having been regular smokers previously. I see this often with clients, who come with no previous cigarette smoking history at all. So be honest with yourself. If clouds of cherry-scented smoke are trailing you wherever you go, it might be worth figuring out how to quit e cigs at long last.
Is vaping more harmful than smoking?
Yes quit e cigs, but do not give up vaping in favour of full-fat, tobacco-packed cigarettes. “Some people believe that vaping is more harmful than smoking, which we know isn’t the case,” says Nicola Lindson, a University of Oxford researcher. She recently reviewed a range of studies examining ways to quit vaping. Scientists like her are in a “tricky moment”, she says. Since they want to encourage smokers to reduce the harm they’re facing by switching to vapes. However, they don’t want to make vapes seem so harmless that people who don’t smoke get hooked on them.
